This exact cottage is also listed on Airbnb — same reviews, same host, same everything. The only difference booking here makes is what you pay and how quickly you hear back.
No service fees
Airbnb charges guests a service fee of up to 15.5% on top of the nightly rate. Booking direct skips it entirely — on a week-long stay that's often $100+ back in your pocket.
Better rate
Same cottage, same amenities — with no platform markup, the total cost of your stay is simply lower than booking the identical listing through Airbnb.
Direct communication
Message me directly with questions or special requests — no support ticket, no waiting on a third party to relay messages.
Flexible for longer stays
Easier to arrange monthly stays, custom check-in times, or other accommodations one-on-one, without Airbnb's rigid policies getting in the way.

About the cottage
Settle into the Bay Area in this private detached guest house. Although only 300 sq ft, every detail has been thought through — from the memory-foam queen bed to the fully stocked kitchen, in-unit laundry, and a dedicated work desk with fast wifi.
Your own private patio with fairy lights and wind chimes sits just outside the door. Two security gates keep the property quiet and secure. The neighborhood is residential but within easy walking distance of Japantown's restaurants, coffee shops, and the Thursday night market.
Whether you're here for a weekend getaway, a work trip, or an extended stay, the space adapts. Long-term guests especially love the washer/dryer and the fully equipped kitchen.

I had a great time staying at Arthur's place. He was incredibly kind, responsive, and proactive about making sure I had everything I needed + more! The place felt soooo cozy and beautifully decorated. The bed is very very comfortable; the sheets are soft, there were 4 pillows with 2 different levels of firmness, and the mattress was great. The blackout curtains in the bedroom were amazing.

I loved staying at this Airbnb. The unit is very private and secure and well-appointed — lots of thought going into things like lighting, closet with full length mirrors, and other things that made my stay easy and comfortable. Arthur was extremely responsive and checked in by message to see if I needed anything.

Amazing stay. Perfect place. I came for work and it was beyond my expectations. Safe (automatic gate + keypad door). Very clean and supplied with everything needed to cook. The surroundings are very quiet and Japantown is within 15 minutes walk.

I enjoy staying at Arthur's place. It is a stand alone place, perfect for me to enjoy for a week. Since it is separate, it is always quiet and peaceful. Japan Town is a short walk away if you need something. I'll book this place again.

This was an amazing place to stay at. The host is the best part. He communicated with me perfectly. When I checked out, I left my airpods. Arthur instantly messaged me and accommodated returning the airpods to me. 10/10!!

One of the more private and comfy Airbnb units I've stayed in. Complete privacy from the main house. Kitchen fully functional. Clean bathroom, hot water, good pressure. Exit gate was uber quiet, so I didn't feel bad leaving at 5am. Stellar stay. Would gladly do it again.
